We NEED your help for organizing North County Pride 2008! If you can help, drop me your email, phone number and name, afterwards which details will be sent back to you.

Saturday, October 13th's North County Pride 2007 more than met the dreams of the return of the event. It was SO special for all the vendors and visitors. Special note to some, it must be understood that this was the return from ashes of not having anything, and to have 2008's event some legs to stand on. With available resources, we did the best we could, and despite the rain threat, we did pretty dang good!!

  • North County Pride POSTPONED
For several reasons, we have had to postpone North County Pride 2008, and details to come shortly, and hope to have it in Early October in Oceanside in conjunction with the North County LGBT Coalition.
  • Special Announcement
This is an official announcement. First off, we appreciate Imperial Court de San Diego's (ICSD) initial efforts to support North County Pride, as we moved the date away from August 2nd, per their request, but can appreciate their inability to help us at this time.

We do still wish for our original request for ICSD, in that we initially simply asked for their presence at North County Pride 2008, which would be celebrating 30 years of North County Pride, from Doug Moore in 1978, to whomever is doing it for 2008, who I will be helping out.

We want to officially postpone the date for September 20, at Stagecoach park, and begin negotiations for moving the event to Oceanside, potentially around October 11th around the Oceanside Pier, thanks to advise from one of the chairs of North County LGBT Coalition, Max Disposti.

Special thanks to Eric Biggen and Gian Lauro, with the City of Carlsbad's Parks Department, who have always bent over backwards, and did everything they could for us, and built such great karma for us and the community and Carlsbad.

Special thanks to George Bulahan, Royal Prince AJ Turner, and Jerry Goldwood of Imperial Court de San Diego for their portion of assisting North County Pride 2008 to date.

Extra special thanks go to Laura Payne of Rhythm and the Method, Prince Adams of Positive Groove, Lisa Bagot who gave her all in trying to help, Nick Cemino who did his best as well under difficult circumstances.

Special alert to Jerry Goldwood: please alert all entertainment of this change.

Lastly, it must be said, as there have been alot of misunderstandings, is that all I ever tried to do, was see to it that something happened for the community once more in North County, and never intended it to be "my show", but in some ways became that for almost no support in 2007. I am a team player, no more, no less, and do desire to work with all organizations, and support all aspects of the community. It was always meant to be as fun for the organizers as the attendees, plus 2007's was too embryonic to take on all matters a Pride should, and was a simply break from the stresses of life, which was alot of fun with the tug-o-war. Initially just a fun "party", but to take on more serious matters, including attempts to become the 2nd largest fund raising event in SD County, 2nd only to SD Pride.

Everything I have done, from supporting Front Runners San Diego, Family Matters at the Center, San Diego Women's Surfer Group, LINC, Front Runners North County, Gay Days Disney, Pilgrim Church, Stop the Initiative campaign, Human Rights Campaign, and the coming projects of the informational/fundraising campaign in conjunction with HRC, and the desire to return a sattelite of The Center to North County, to Escondido's UCC church (which would seek them to go "O&A" at the same time, translation: free rent).

I've always meant for the best for all, and the best possible for everyone. Please accept my apology for any miscommunication that may have taken in the past, and please know it was always with the best interests at heart to help the community, in any fashion I could do, within the power (little as it was) that I had.

  • 2008 will mark 30 years of North County Pride Events.
    It all began
with a gentleman by the name of Doug Moore. He and everyone through Russell Poncik will be on a history page beginning early next year, to see as much history we can provide for North County Pride.
  • We had over 14,000 visitors to our site
in it's first 6 months of existence. That proves we're restoring the GLBT Society in North San Diego county.
  • Flyer distribution helped by Curtis Fitzgerald
at places in Escondido, including "Distinctions" art gallery, Starbucks on E. Valley near Home Depot, Jimbos, Blue Mug, online at the about.com forum, and BiNet USA's Internet discussion list, members of San Diego Women's chorus.
