New info for 4/10/09 at 6pm event for you. Hope you join this event, it's great!

Day Of Empowerment 6th Annual Transgender 041009 San Diego GLBT Center

This website was setup in early 2007, to help herald the return of having a pride festival in North County, and was alot of fun doing. In the process, it showed how difficult it can be to try and bring so many groups together. Prop 8 showed we can work together, but since then, alot of the groups have separated once again. In time, I fully desire to see all groups, not just gay & lesbian, but all groups work together more closely to form a more cohesive society.

Here's wishing you and yours a wonderful 2009, and hope life treats you as good as possible.

Most of you have not heard from the meister behind North County Pride 2007 in some time, and for me, it's been a case of working to restore myself back into society. Along the way, have been knocked down plenty of times (and some of that evidence has been on this site at times), but as the song goes, "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you cannot keep me down", but my favorite mantra, is the saying from the "Meet the Robinsons" Disney movie, "Keep Moving Forward".

Here's some quick reminders of some of the fun that has gone on in the last couple of years.

Tug-o-War at the 2007 pride.

It pitted Escondido/San Marcos -vs- Vista & Oceanside (plus outsiders at the shorter line)

We did this twice, so everyone won!

This shows other vendors who came, and all were invited at no cost, the one paying vendor got the tree :)
Rhythm and the Method was a tremendous hit at the event.
(what most don't know, this almost did not happen, as it was raining hard that morning) (we squeegeed the tables to begin with!)
These are some of the stars of the new North County LGBT Coalition, headed by Max Desposti (on the left), plus Raphael, Curtis, Tina, and Cliff
Gee, who's this?
South Bay Pride 2008 was HUGE, and had to be at least 5 times the size of 2007. Congrats to the entire South Bay Alliance and my friend, Marci Bair.
